Afternoon Tea @ Just Want Coffee The Garden

Hello! We're here at...

I believe all you Johor Bahru readers have heard or seen pictures about this cafe on Instagram or Facebook? :)

Just Want Coffee The Garden was previously a show house but has been renovated into a cafe at JP Perdana, Johor Bahru. It's one-of-a-kind concept has attracted a lot of people to visit this place even during weekdays! We got there around 5 minutes before the opening hour and there were already people queuing outside, crazy isn't it?

The decoration of the cafe sort of reminds me of Santorini, Greece. Okay maybe it's because of the colors.

We ordered Tiramisu, Strawberry Waffle and Tofu Cheesecake to share.

The Tiramisu is the best among the three. What makes it so special is that it has a layer of ice cream instead of the normal mascarpone cheese layer. The rich cocoa powder paired with the smooth ice-cream and the bitter yet aromatic coffee flavoured cake is simply delightful. Perfect for a hot afternoon with a nice cup of ice coffee :)

Next up is the Strawberry Waffle. The waffle has a rich eggy flavour which I like and it comes with a scoop of strawberry ice-cream which is not the normal Nestle or Walls Ice-cream we normally had at other restaurants, whipped cream and some fresh strawberries.

This is the Tofu Cheesecake which I like the least. It has a weird taste that we don't even know how to describe it.

  • Overall, it's a so-so cafe with it's one of a kind concept of having it in a show house. I would recommend it to you to come and have a look if you haven't been here before.
  • Price of the food and beverages are at a steeper side, and you don't have a lot of choices to choose from. Sky juice is free of charge, but they did state that every customer must order a minimum of one beverage though.
  • Be prepared to queue for at least 30 minutes to be seated as the tables are limited and the area is relatively small.

Dolce Heaven Reunited: Brunch at Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie

Situated at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, only 5 minutes drive from the infamous shopping district, Jalan Bukit Bintang, this french-style bakery and cafe is a great place for a lovely weekend brunch with your loved ones. Please bear in mind that this little gem can be quite difficult to find for first timers though as it's located in a quiet street off Jalan Imbi.

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie boasts for it's relaxing atmosphere in a colonial-style bungalow.
The self-service bakery at the left of the entrance serves a wide variety of breads, pastries and desserts. If you would like to have your breads and pastries heated, go over to the 'STONE OVEN' and they will do the rest. Come pick them up after approximately 3 minutes and ta-daa! Hot buns fresh from the oven! YUMMY!

Pick your choice of breads, pastries or desserts and pay at the cashier. You are allowed to order drinks and hot meals like spaghetti at the cashier too!

What I would personally recommend all of you to try out are both of these sliced pizza!
 This is the ham pizza.
This is the seafood pizza fresh from the oven.
Grab them immediately when you see them on the rack as they tend to finish quite fast!

What's better than to finish off the meal with some hot drinks by the barista? :)
Angeline's Hot Chocolate.
Vivian and I both ordered a cup of Cappucino each. This hot, steaming cup of frothy Cappuccino pairs great with the rather sweet breads and pastries we had.
  • Overall, ambience is relaxing, a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It can be a little crowded during the weekends though, be prepared for a long queue at the cashier and it can be a little noisy.
  • Parking can be a problem during peak hours. If you're lazy to find a parking space, Levain does provide valet services at only RM2! :)

Dolce Heaven Reunited : Luxurious High Tea Session at Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Welcome back to our blog ladiesss!!!! So I am gonna continue talk about our girly plans for that day.

After we ate some light meal at Chinoz on the park, KLCC <<<<<< CLICK HERE if you haven't read yet =D , we headed to Mandarin Oriental Hotel which located beside KLCC to have our luxurious high tea and chit chat session.

As you can see from the photos...It has a very nice and cozy atmosphere with some dim lights over there ( however, it is seriously not a good place to take picture -.- everything is so DARK ) So if you want to have a good lighting quality, you can request them to let you reserve the seats nearby the windows. But we did not request for it so I have to apologise for the bad photo quality =/

This photo capture from foodfashionfinance.blogspot.com

I have to apologize once again that throughout the whole post, you will not see any photos of me because I was suffering from allergic on my face hence I look so effling ugly on that day. I do not wish anyone to see me when I am in a bad condition except my close relatives and friends. Hope you all understand.

Okay back to the high tea session!!!

We ordered two sets of dessert that comes with a very oriental style dessert tray. It costs us RM78++ each (service charges and government taxes are not included YET) @.@

Talking honestly, the appearance is quite nice but the problem is all the desserts size on the tray actually are kinda small =/ abit disappointed la because the price is too pricey but still we didn't manage to finish two trays of them LOL

While waiting for the desserts to be serve.......we taking pictures non-stop......

Whipped cream, jams and sour lime cream to go with the delicious scones later!!

After the desserts tray is on our table..........WE STILL TAKING PICTURES NON-STOP!! =.=||| Bloggers being bloggers......or should I say girls being girls??

Sorry for the bad lighting >.<''

So testing time!!!!

Well...this thingy is really really SWEET @.@ I am a sweet tooth but I can't bare this sweetness LOL It taste abit like macaron, crunchy outside and soft inside with the kaya paste. On top is coated by candy that taste like the candy we used to eat during childhood times....

This candy!!!! Ring a bell???

The scones there were too soft though =/

This thing taste like pineapple tarts haha!!! okay maybe it is really a pineapple tarts LOL

Mini chicken pie!!!! I love this because the pie skin were so crispy and they really put so much chicken paste inside. However for those green pepper hater, I don't think you will like this hehe because the chicken paste has a scent of the green pepper smell.

Vanilla pudding topped with strawberries and strawberry jam ^^ It was quite tasty for the vanilla pudding but the strawberry was a bit sourish...... =( Okay la maybe I am not a fan of strawberries

I am a Chocolate Lover so I LOVE THIS EHHEHEHE  Chocolate moose on top of a piece of thin dark chocolate meanwhile cute little blueberry was placed on top as the final step ^^ The chocolate moose was creamy and orgasmic =)

Erm I don't know why I can't remember how this taste like =S sincerely sorry about it......

Okay others remaining desserts we literally just take it from the tray and eat it LOL so it is already in our tummy or already digested out hehe..so now I use words to describe the remaining ones~~

So there are three types of sandwiches, which are salmon paste sandwiches, egg sandwiches and cucumber with mayonaise sandwiches as you can see from the desserts set photo on the top of the post.
The salmon paste sandwiches taste the best!!!! However the egg sandwiches they put too less egg into the bread =/ Cucumber with mayo sandwiches taste not bad as well =)

And another one I really hate it so much!! In conjunction with the Ramadhan, they mix some Malay style dessert into our desserts tray =/  there is a colourful fruity cake..it has lots of raisins and a strong dried oranges smell in it which you might eat it before if you attend Malay wedding before LOL I don't quite like that cake but still force myself to eat it because HEYYYY ONE DESSERT THERE IS NOT CHEAP MANNN!!

Lesson of the day : Do not go and have your high tea there if you do not like Ramadhan style kuih-muih (desserts) p/s: I am not being racist kay..I love Malay food but not desserts =)

So my rating......

Dolce Heaven Reunited : Chinoz on the park, KLCC

Ohhhh hi guyss!! Angeline here and this time is my turn to update the blog ^^ Well this post is gonna be a short one but shhhhhhh...LONG POST IS COMING AFTER THAT!! ;)

Anyway, it was a nice Friday. After Huiyean and Denise picked me up from SS15, we heading to KLCC to have some light meals before our hi tea session in Mandarin Oriental Hotel (I am gonna blog about this on the next post).

So we were trying to pick a place to have our light meals unfortunately three of us couldn't decide what we actually what to eat. "WHAT TO EAT?" seriously is the HARDEST question to answer in my life!! Everyday I need to deal with this question haizzzz..While we keep walking and walking...we reached Chinoz on the park restaurant. We were like "Aiya just go in first only decide" so yeah we went in LOL

I love the ambience because it is kinda like Australian style. But somehow I felt it is a bit stuffy to me =S maybe stay too long in Australia and now I can't really stand this kind of hot weather in Malaysia. Had been experienced nose bleed, pimples growing, rashes breakout and diarrhoea ever since I came back. =.=

Okay so I recommended them to try out their Carbonara spaghetti with some turkey bacons on it as I already tried that before back in Bangsar and it was really not that bad =D Well three of us just shared one plate of it because we gonna have our hi tea session later on. We must leave some space in our tummy first xD

I swear the portion is enough for three of us LOL because the sauce is kinda CREAMY so it will be very full if you eat it alone. It tastes so nice with the crispy turkey bacon with it. Denise said the turkey bacon taste like "ba kua" (the dry meat we used to it during Chinese New Year) .  Nevertheless, we were quite happy for the light meal of the day ^^

Denise and Huiyean are Cappuccino lover I suppose? They always order cappuccino LOL so they never skip this time as well

The coffee art is sooo beautiful!! I prefer this kind of coffee art instead of those coffee art like teddy bear or some random cartoons on it. No offence ya >.<'' Classic and simple is always the best to me~~

And.....I ordered Apple Juice because I do not want to order something creamy or milky anymore since we ordered Carbonara spaghetti. Talking honestly, I was not really satisfy with this juice. It is not purely apple juice =/ They mixed the Celery into it =( which I hate it so much!!! But it is good for our skin though, celery can detoxify our body and reduce pimples growing on our face =)

So this is it!!!! Will post about our hi tea session soon kay~~~ please stay tuned ;)
